Like most Arminian sects, the CoC put human logic on par with God’s divine decrees, which created a prison of performance, where our religious identity became heavily shackled to a man-made system. As a deadly consequence, disobeying the CoC system became equal to disobeying God; the same pit Romanism leads to, and what Paul warned about (Col. 2:22).
No wonder Jesus described this kind of nonsense as “straining at a nat and swallowing a camel” (Mt. 23:24), for it leads to eating and drinking damnation to one’s own soul (1 Cor. 11:29-30). One can only imagine just how guilty the CoC may be of the body and blood of Christ, by implementing a system that displaces and distorts the truth concerning Jesus’ body and blood, insults the Spirit of grace, and replaces His gospel with non-essential assumptions and commandments of men that are hostile to the gospel.
The irony was that the most crucial aspect of salvation, which is saving faith (in the true Christ of Scripture) being a gift from God apart from any human effort, was replaced with disputable things, which dishonored the name of Christ, and eclipsed the biblical view of the gospel. No wonder Romans 14 strongly warns against making disputable things essential to salvation! In Jesus Christ there are no “doubtful disputations.”
Thanks to a very godly Christian friend of mine, I am once again able to share some of the research they have done concerning the malicious spirit behind Armnianism. Here goes–
“The saintly Samuel Rutherford who occupied a professor‘s chair at St. Andrew‘s University, made use of his scholarship to defend the faith by publishing a notable book against Arminianism. ―It was this malicious spirit of Arminianism, writes the editor of The Contender (Nova Scotia), that drove the Episcopal leaders (in conjunction with the civil power of the king) to persecute the Covenanters to prison and to death. As a direct result of his book against Arminianism, Rutherford was put through the form of a trialby a group of Arminian bishops who were led by Sydserff of Galloway, deprived of his pastoral charge at Anwoth and banished to the town of Aberdeen. In a letter Rutherford wrote to a minister in Ireland, Robert Cunningham, he says: The cause that ripened their hatred was my book against the Arminians, whereof they accused me, on those three days I appeared before them. And in a letter from Aberdeen in 1637, to Mr. John Ferguson of Ochiltree, Rutherford refers to his trial, saying, I was judicially accused for my book against the Arminians, and commanded by the Chancellor to acknowledge I had done a fault in writing against Dr. Jackson, a wicked Arminian.”
“In a footnote to this letter, the editor Dr. Bonar, says: Dr. Thomas Jackson, Dean of Peterborough, first held Calvinistic sentiments but afterwards became an Arminian, a change which recommended him to the favour and patronage of Archbishop Laud. The character of Laud may be seen in relation to his part in the trial, sentencing, imprisonment, and torturing of Dr. Alexander Leighton at London. A sketch of Leighton‘s history is given in the preface to a letter which Rutherford wrote him while in prison. The sketch says that Leighton, because of his zeal for Presbyterian principles and against the innovations of Laud, was arrested in 1629 and kept in an abominable cell sixteen weeks before his trial by the Star Chamber. Because of this ―severe distress that had brought skin and hair almost wholly off his body, he could not attend his trial. The Star Chamber condemned the afflicted and aged divine to be degraded as a minister, to have one of his ears cut off, and one side of his nose slit, to be branded on the face with a red-hot iron, to stand in the pillory, to be whipped at a post, to pay a fine of £1,000 and to suffer imprisonment until the fine was paid. When this inhuman sentence was pronounced, Laud took off his hat, and holding up his hands, gave thanks to God who had given the Church victory over her enemies! The sentence was executed without mercy, and Leighton lay in prison till upwards of ten years. When liberated he could hardly walk, see, or hear. He died in 1649” (The Contender—Nova Scotia, April, 1955).
“These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.” (Jn 16: 1-2).
“In 1631, five years before he was condemned and banished to Aberdeen, Rutherford wrote to Marion McNaught from his parish at Anwoth concerning Dr. Henry Burton, whose footsteps he was later to follow. Says Rutherford in this letter, Know that I am in great heaviness for the pitiful case of our Lord‘s Kirk. I hear the cause why Dr. Burton is committed to prison is his writing and preaching against Arminians. I therefore entreat the aid of your prayers for myself, and the Lord‘s captives of hope, and for Zion. The Lord hath let and daily lets me see how deep furrows Arminianism and the followers of it draw upon the back of God‘s Israel—but our Lord cut the cords of the wicked! Arminianism was not more rampant than it is now in England, Scotland, and our own North American continent.
Let us not think that the malignant spirit of persecution that moved the Arminians—led by Bishop Sydserff, Archbishop Laud and others—died at the end of the covenanting struggles of long ago. The Arminians of today hold precisely the same false doctrines, and are just as relentlessly opposed to the absolute sovereignty of God and unconditional election as were the Arminians of old” (The Contender—Nova Scotia, April, 1955).

It is crucial in the times we live in to understand what God’s Word says about obeying the governing authorities, and how we must not submit if it commands us to compromise our conscience and go along with what God forbids (e.g. Rom. 13). It is also of equal importance to be biblically informed on how Christians need to be prepared for the severe persecution that is coming (and is already here for some of us) and how they will be falsely framed by those in authority, just like Jesus was. We’re to be prepared as sheep for the slaughter.
We are not all going to go down in history, like John Bunyan, as noble Christians who suffered for the sake of Christ. We now live in worse times, for those who believe all they hear and see in the media will develop evil suspicions and will believe that true Christians are actual criminals. Already true Christians are being called “domestic terrorists” by some governing officials that hate the God of the Bible. And many are believing them!
True Christian persecution is not being portrayed in the news. It is being silenced and censored. Instead, heretics are being hailed as Christian martyrs, heretics that are haters and murderers of true Christians! The corrupt, ecumenical Voice of the Martyrs organization has been doing this for years.
God’s people need to be warned from American pulpits that they should not believe all they see in the mainstream media, which is constant propaganda to deceive people. Better yet, they should be encouraged to get away from all of that filth and back to reading and believing the Bible. Only then will they be able to discern that true, honest, investigative reporters were purged from the mainstream media years ago. The talking heads that have taken their place are sold out puppets of a false political narrative and Luciferian agenda.
Let’s get back to basics. We don’t have to be informed by an addictive black box. We need to depend solely upon God and His Word, so that we can stand against these wiles of the devil.
I grieve that I ever allowed my children to be fed into the mouth of Molech, through the public school system, false religion and media indoctrination. I cannot change the past, but according to Scripture, I can redeem the time and take a stand now against what is so manifestly evil (Eph. 5:16). This is also why I am not involved, and never have been, and hopefully never will be, in addictive hyper-socialized media platforms. I have seen what it does to so many people, and it is truly heart-breaking.
Considering all of the strong, delusional distractions and distortions of mind that we have going on today, one can only imagine what those godly men from the 1600’s would think about our current conditions, when even then it was determined that God’s impending judgement upon churches and nations was close at hand. For instance, Puritan John Owens had this to say:
“Some are so well pleased with their present advantages, in promotions, dignities, and wealth, as their interest, that they cannot endure to think of these things. Whatever warnings are portended of approaching judgments, they look on them as the threatenings of such as have ill-will against them, and would have these things to portend their trouble. Guilt makes them fearful and sensible, and they think it best to hide those things from themselves, which, if they are so, they cannot remedy.
Take heed of vain confidences. Men are apt, in such seasons, to fix on one thing or other, wherewith they relieve and support themselves; and there is not any thing that is more effectual to keep them off from this duty and the frame of spirit which is required in them. If you speak with any man almost, you may, with a little heed, discover wherein his confidence doth lie, and what it is that he trusts unto. But, saith the prophet unto such persons, “The Lord hath rejected thy confidences, and thou shalt not prosper in them,” Jer. ii. 37.
….”the CoC would stress the doing of God’s will in verses such as John 7:17, but would leave out the fact that doing His will meant believing solely upon Jesus Christ for eternal life (Jn. 6:40), and how everything else would fall into place after that.”
Conscience searing procedures are often performed through spiritually dangerous counseling and “prayer techniques” that are similar to occult practices and secular psychotherapy, which is highly encouraged in Arminian circles. But they are often “Christianized” under terms such as “Soaking Prayer,” contemplative meditation, etc., where one’s unconscious or subconscious “needs” are brought to the surface, to expose causes of “unproductive behavior” that keep one from living up to ones “full-potential.” So the main focus is always upon self… not God. And Scripture strongly warns against self-worship (e.g. Rom. 12:3, Phil. 2:3, 2 Tim. 3:2).
False religious systems promote the idea that one “gets in a bad situation” because their needs are not met, and portrays Jesus as a genie in a bottle. However, Scripture reveals that Adam, Eve and even Satan himself had everything one could ever ask for, and yet, they still rebelled against God! So Jesus let multitudes know that their only hope was for God the Father to draw them to Him the true Christ, to teach them that they needed eternal riches more than earthly treasures (Jn. 6:44-65). But superficial followers don’t want to hear it and so they end up walking away (v. 66).
Scripture makes it clear that sin is humanity’s problem, not “unconscious needs” or low self-esteem. The last thing we need is self-ascension. We tend to love ourselves too much, which is one reason we make bad choices. The heart (which is the seat of our conscience, thoughts, emotions and choices), must be made anew by a supernatural act of God, due to the effects of being spiritually deadened by sin. Although we don’t have the ability to do this ourselves, it does not excuse us from being responsible toward God, for we are still fully conscious, self-aware and actively rebellious. He does not lower His standard just because we are fallen.
This is why we need the Savior, Who lived up to God’s perfect standard of righteousness perfectly. Our rescue is not about self-realization of conscious or unconscious needs that must be “psychoanalyzed” or used as excuses not to be accountable to God for our active, self-centered sinfulness. Behavior modification only suppresses the truth in unrighteousness (Rom. 1:18).
Humanistic psychotherapy is based on the godless imaginations of atheists, such as Sigmund Freud, who, like most unswerving Arminians, hated the absolute sovereignty of God and the biblical concept of sin. Though the CoC claims that confessions of faith (or creeds) are nothing more than man-made opinions, it has the audacity to incorporate into its ministries, the unbiblical opinions of pseudo-science, which is defined as: “a system of theories, assumptions, and methods erroneously regarded as scientific.”
The Bible warns against “science falsely so-called” (1 Tim. 6:20). True science can be measured, studied, tested, repeated, observed and verified. Yet–
“Psychotherapy escapes the rigors of science because the mind is not equal to the brain and man is not a machine. The actual foundations of psychotherapy are not science, but rather various philosophical world views, especially those of determinism, secular humanism, behaviorism, existentialism, and even evolutionism. Its influence has not been confined to the therapist’s office, for its varied explanations of human behavior and contradictory ideas for change have permeated both society and the church.”

Given the overwhelming evidence of Arminianism being a “Papist Plot” from the get-go, there can be no reasonable excuse for professed Christians to continue to passively go along with its political and unbiblical dictates. Given the historical discoveries of Arminianism’s Jesuit roots, it is every true Christians duty to renounce and expose its infiltration of Christendom.
Despite the ancient language and spelling, take a very close look at this perfect illustration of just how sinister the powers of darkness have operated for centuries “under the radar”…….and compare it to how they are still operating behind the scenes today, especially in the public arena, by claiming to be true Christians who are “persecuted” by operations that they themselves have created in order to gain sympathizers over to their wicked cause of deceiving the masses…..
“March, 1628. A Jesuit’s Letter, sent to the Rector at Bruxels, about the ensuing Parliament.” The design of this letter was to give the Superior of the Jesuits, then resident at Brussels, an account of the posture of civil and ecclesiastical affairs in England; an extract from it I shall here subjoin:
“Father Rector, let not the damp of astonishment seize upon your ardent and zealous soul, in apprehending the sodaine and unexpected calling of a Parliament. We [the Jesuits] have now many strings to our bow. We have planted that soveraigne drugge Arminianisme, which we hope will purge the Protestants from their heresie; and it flourisheth and beares fruit in due season. For the better prevention of the Puritanes, the Arminians have already locked up the Duke’s (of Buckingham) eares; and we have those of our owne religion, which stand continually at the Duke’s chamber, to see who goes in and out: we cannot be too circumspect and carefull in this regard. I am, at this time, transported with joy, to see how happily all instruments and means, as well great as lesser, co-operate unto our purposes. But, to return unto the maine fabricke:–OUR FOUNDATION IS ARMINIANISME. The Arminians and projectors, as it appeares in the premises, affect mutation. This we second and enforce by probable arguments.”
As a continuation of my last post, here is another very telling fact about Arminianisms wicked roots, which is available at: understanding-ministries.com from an article titled:
The Roots of Arminianism
Here author Paul Fahy states as follows:
“What is clear is that the progress of Arminianism is not due to the attraction of the ideas alone, but that, especially in England, Jesuit activity has encouraged and developed its progress. It is bad enough that Arminius took Pelagian ideas and revamped them to make them more attractive to Christians and to blur the edges between Protestants and Catholics. His teachings dishonour God’s sovereignty and cause people to shipwreck their faith. But for this to be part of a papist plot from the start shows the insidious and evil source of the whole issue. Modern believers who knowingly or unknowingly cling to Arminian theology (as most do) should be aware of the real roots of this deception. Without doubt the progress of Arminianism in Puritan England had a Jesuit root.” (Emphasis Mine)
