Arminianism's Apostate Movements

There is no such thing as an “anonymous Christian”….someone that is supposedly saved without faith in Christ. Yet, false prophets, such as Billy Graham (who had Jesuit ties), have tried to convince people that there are those that may be saved who don’t believe in Jesus.  Sadly, it was shocking to find out that “Bible Study Fellowship” (BSF International), and other such crusades, were formed by this apostate movement. So, we must ask: Were they possibly invented with the purpose of discipling false converts that have been deceived by some kind of false altar call experience?

These movements and crusades (such as Cru, Campus Crusade for Christ) are centered on the idea that there are people in other religions, that don’t confess Jesus as their only hope, who are being led by “God’s secret influence” to concentrate on parts of their religion that are minimally in agreement with Christianity, and who thus belong to Christ without knowing the truth of Who He really is. Although, Jesus clearly stated:

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (Jn. 8:32, emphasis mine).

These apostate movements have led many to believe the exact opposite of 2 John verses 9-11. Many even teach that a person can be saved without knowing the central aspects of the doctrines of Christ and what He has actually accomplished on behalf of those He died for. As a result, there is now a rampant misunderstanding of the Spirit’s main objective, and a total rejection of John 14:6, where Jesus states,

“I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me.”

Although Romanism and other Arminian false religions will affirm some basic Christian doctrines (e.g. the Deity of Christ, His virgin birth, His incarnation, etc.), they still have a different gospel, which puts them completely at odds with biblical Christianity no matter how many other things they may get right.

It is crucial to remember that the mission of the Holy Spirit is to bring glory to Christ, by taking what is His–His teaching, the truth about what He has actually accomplished to save sinners–and making it known. The Spirit does NOT work indiscriminately without the revelation of Christ in view!! The Holy Spirit’s most important work is to glorify Christ, and He does NOT do this apart from shining the spotlight on the true Christ of Scripture for His people to see and savor.

For Jesus said…

“When He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself; but whatsoever He shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will show you things to come. He shall glorify Me: for He shall receive of Mine, and shall show it unto you” (John 16:13-14, emphasis mine).

True salvation is not about having a mystical, New Age “Jesus encounter.” It’s about saving faith in the true Jesus, not what can only be seen, heard or felt through the mere physical senses. It is about God opening His Word to the minds of His people, so that they can know the truth. They may not always know how to articulate their convictions with precision, but they have a true and saving faith in the one true Christ, Who really is Who He claims to be, and they trust in Him alone with all of their salvation. As a result, they are kept from a false confession that blasphemes the true Christ.

But false converts who continue in a perpetually permanent pattern of sin and blasphemy against Christ, will continue to be Arminian to the core, with a refusal to submit to the complete sovereignty of God in salvation. They will continue to blaspheme Him with a confession that glorifies their own freewill, rather than glorifying Him alone. They will continue to lean on their own fallen understanding instead of on the everlasting arms of the one true Christ Who saves His sheep to the uttermost.
